How I fell in love with Travel.

The travel bug bit and never let go. I fell in love with traveling by chance. I had recently come out of a long-term relationship. lost and didn’t have a clue what to do. I only worked and went home. That was my life in my 20’s. (I am 23 as of November 2018). As per routine, I turned on Netflix after work. I decided to turn on Parts Unknown with Anthony Bourdain. I watched the episode where he visits London. Something sparked interest. I am big science fiction fan. I was obsessed with Doctor Who at the time. I decided! I was going to London by myself. Coincidentally my dad was planning a trip to Laos to visit his parents. He asked me if I wanted to go. I couldn’t say no.

I discovered my passion for teaching in Laos while spending time with my younger cousins who don’t speak a lick of English. I had fun because they wanted to learn and wanted me to pronounce every word in their workbooks. I fell in love with helping people, teaching and learning. You don’t need a lot to be happy. All I had was my family and some English homework. I love seeing new places and how people live, work and play. Traveling taught me; we are all the same, we all have people we love, we all eat, and Beer Lao is amazing.
